Restaurant Guy Savoy

It is no exaggeration that some of the finest food in Las Vegas, and perhaps the world, can be found at the two Michelin star, Restaurant Guy Savoy.

We recently visited Restaurant Guy Savoy as guests of Harrah’s Entertainment to sample various offerings from Chef Savoy’s “Bites and Bubbles” menu. It is here that I had my first taste of the legendary Jamon Iberico de Bellota, the legendary cured ham from Spain. Aged for 36 months this ham from black Iberian pigs fed on acorns lives up to its reputation as the finest ham in the world.

Pristine, perfectly briny oysters in ice gelee were as beautiful as they were delicious. Washed down with sips of champagne, I believe I momentarily found Nirvana.

Not to be undone was a heavenly artichoke and black truffle soup garnished with discs of black and white truffles shaved from a rare $1,600 white truffle served with sublime toasted brioche with black truffle butter.

Several other equally divine small bites, both savory and sweet, were followed with a behind the scenes tour of the Michelin star kitchen, unlike any other professional kitchen I have ever stood in. It became apparent that such perfection in food could only come from this handsome, gleaming kitchen designed by one of the world’s foremost Chefs.

Yes, the prices are high. Luxury and perfection do not come cheap, but as with all things, you get what you pay for. You will find other outstanding meals in Las Vegas but nothing will compare to Chef Savoy’s creations. If you are reading this from death row make Restaurant Guy Savoy your last meal. It’s the closest to heaven you’ll get.
